The participatory project supported by the Ministry of Art and Sciences (North Rhine-Westphalia) is the artistic intervention of the  first- to four-graders to the reconstruction and visual update of the century-old Wellensiek Primary School and its surroundings.

Rather than being mere observers or assistants, children are actively involved in planning and creation of the new visual space at all stages and levels (including artistic research, production of artworks and video documentation of the process). The main idea is not to impose the existing art practices upon children, but rather to alter artistic techniques through their involvement in the creative process.
